ABOUT US

We are a youth-driven, non-partisan organisation that seek to convene and create safe spaces for progressive intergenerational dialogue. We are a registered Trust (Number MA 0002373/2018) and we started operating as at December 21st 2018. We are also an Action Partner under the ACT4SDGs initiative.
OUR MISSION
Our mission is to create spaces for reflection, pooling of solutions, critical thinking, harnessing creativity, listening and exchange of ideas between young people, Heads of State and Government, business leaders and other policy makers and stakeholders on issues that concern the youth, including how to achieve the demographic dividend and realize Agenda 2063 and the SDGs.

WHY WE EXIST

All generations in Africa want a better future, without compromising the present. Intergenerational Dialogue ZW focuses on the need to re-balance the democratic life of young people, the work, pension and economic life of all people, the service provision for those at the margins of society and all through the prism of sustainable development and fulfilling the needs of today without compromising the potential of tomorrow. Many of the concerns of the old and young are similar but that caution should be made to allow autonomy for flourish within the context of cross generational solidarity in all avenues of society. We are Zimbabwe’s only platform convened by young people that aims to debate, discuss and analyze intergenerational public policy issues converging the youth, business community, policy makers, government, older generations, international organizations, civil society and the diplomatic community this is all done in full glare of the African Union Agenda20 63, the government of Zimbabwe’s Vision 2023 and the Sustainable Development Goals.

We aim to achieve our mission in 4 goal areas

Inclusive
To facilitate the inclusion of the youth in critical discussions with key decision makers about the developmental discourse in Zimbabwe and Africa centered on the African Union Agenda 2063.
Spaces
Creating spaces for reflection, listening and exchange of ideas between young people, political and Government leaders, business leaders, the international community and other policy makers and stakeholders on issues that concern the youth, including how to harness the demographic dividend and realize Agenda 2063 and the SDGs.
Participation
To encourage the inclusion of youth perspectives in public policy decisions and ministerial declarations in Zimbabwe.
Publication
Producing publications and think-tanking on intergenerational issues and youth empowerment in Africa and Zimbabwe with view of Zimbabwe’s Vision 2030 and the African Union’s vision 2063.
